Install the firmware

Flash your device straight from this page, with nothing to download. Works in Chrome or Edge on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook.

Trouble connecting? Hold BOOT, tap RESET, release BOOT, then click Connect again.

Step by step

  1. 1 Open this page in Chrome or Edge on a computer.
  2. 2 Connect the device with a USB-C data cable (a charge-only cable will not work).
  3. 3 Click Connect & Install below, then pick the device’s serial port.
  4. 4 Click Install and confirm. It takes about a minute, so don’t unplug.
  5. 5 When it finishes, unplug. The player boots on its own.

If something goes wrong

Device not in the port list
Use a data USB-C cable (not charge-only), try another port, or enter download mode (below).
"Web Serial not supported"
Use Chrome or Edge on a computer, not a phone, and not Safari or Firefox.
Flashing fails partway
Try a different cable or port, then enter download mode and retry.
Blank screen afterwards
Tap RESET once, and make sure a microSD card with audio is inserted.
